Mũi Né trip

After almost a year delay, I finally on my way to Mũi Né on the national holiday of Vietnam. From 30/04 ~ 02/05

Everything went well, in the begining. I stopped by a dairy farm for a bottle of water and a temple for visiting a family friend, I got refreshed and felt been welcomed. The weather wasn't too harsh on me because I started my journey in the afternoon and the sky were a bit cloudy. It was quite enjoyable the first section of the trip.

The second part of the trip end up ridiculous, and probably the most fun. The sun went down, the moon hidden behind the cloud, the road lamp for some reason won't light, and the headlight of my be loved motorbike were dead. I tried to ask the garage on the way if they could help me by change the light bulb. The answer was 'Now is late, and today is holiday.'. Indeed, it's cruel to ask somebody works on holiday evening, I shall just carry on by my self with stars as my brightly guide.

Fact proves that stars can only give you luck, not the sight during the cloudy night. I had an accident can prove it. Mistaken a bush on the side of the road  as a bollard, the bike and I both hit the ground, nasty damage of it and a mouthful of dirt for me. Few bruies and cuts on my body, makes me look manly but felt bitchly. Side mirror and the clutch bar fell off from the left handle, and front wheel was 'disagree' with the direction of the handle heading. Surprisingly, I can still start the engine and ride it by pulling the clutch line tight everytime I was about to change the gear and heading the handle about 45 degrees more then the direction I want to go, towards right.

Found a garage, leave the bike there, got me self a 'villa' for the night, had two packs of instant noodles, stepped on the one and only pair of glasses of mine, and BOOM~~~ the next morning came without knocking.

Without glasses, everything looks brighter, and sometimes larger. Maybe it was because I had to put my face in front of them, closely. While waiting in the garage, I made friends. An 74 years old ex-boxing gent and his 62 years old wife. Oh, and their 10 children with 11 grandchildren. Some of his children not even married, I was honourably been taking into consideration as one of the candiates of his future son in law. Unfortunately, the bike been fixed just before the family pronunce the result. I had to leave to Mũi Né. After all, I am a man of the world, with blurred vision.

All the rooms of all the hotels and resorts were fully booked. 3 hours were the time I spent on finding me a room to stay, without the blessing of the stars. In the end, I found a room in one brand new hotel next to a golf course in Phan Thiết city which was really new that they didn't even finish the installation of the TV antenna, hallway lights ,and the internet connection. And it needs one brand new Benjamin a night... Bye bye Ben, hello bed.

Right after check in to the hotel, I went to a nearby optical store. I only spent 30 minutes in the store from choose the frame to finish the work. Amazingly fast. Thumb up!

After got my sight back, I hurried to a geocaching location before dusk, and logged my name and date in that tiny little cache. It gaves me the feeling of accomplished something, very therapeutic. On the way back to the cache point, I saw a small island the shape looks like a giant turtle. It's similar to a also an island in the north tip of Taiwan. the difference between those two is this one has longer tail. It was all very pleasant except that the headlight became weird again and the side mirror lossen on the way back to hotel. I had to pet the headlight from time to time for waking it up and adjust the position of the side mirror all the way. I treat myself a decent dinner, double chips, supercup coke, cup noddle, and a huge hershey's bar.

The last part of my trip, is the part went back to Saigon. All I can say is it was like I attend a world class motorcycle rally championship cup, It was a total mess. Although the motorbike had to report to the garage for few days and my helmet were wrecked, but hey! I am still alive and sound. This is a trip alright, an adventrure I would say. A not easy but joyful ride.

Wait a minute, where are the pictures of beach and bikinis?

Well... it was an adventure...... and I was just simply forgot to took them.
